Abu Dhabi's Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased 0.8% to 110.8% during the period between January and November 2019, compared with figures of 111.7% for the corresponding period in 2018, according to the latest report released by the Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

The report provides the results of CPI by household welfare levels, household types, Abu Dhabi regions, and the percentage contribution of the major expenditure groups in the annual price change, according to state news agency Wam.

The UAE capital’s CPI decreased 0.3% year-on-year, with the index falling to 110.3% in November 2019.

According to the SCAD, the ‘housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel’ group contributed 137.4% to the overall decrease in CPI during the period between January and November 2019, compared with the same period of 2018.

Prices of the ‘transport’ group decreased by 5.8% during the first eleven month of 2019, compared with the same period last year, and contributed 102.9% to the overall decrease.
