Aldar to "embed sustainable practices and policies" in 2020
CEO Talal Al Dhiyebi says, developer creates long-term sustainable growth and value for all stakeholders
On the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange-lised Aldar Properties’ chief executive officer, Talal Al Dhiyebi said that the developer will “continue to embed sustainable practices and policies” across its departments in 2020.
Al Dhiyebi said that the ADSW was a key to promote and accelerate the world’s sustainable development.
For Aldar, “sustainability is about how we create long-term, sustainable growth and value for all our stakeholders - the community, our customers, our employees and our shareholders”, Al Dhiyebi said.
2019 saw the developer launch its Corporate Sustainability Strategy and released its first sustainability report.
“In 2020, we will continue to embed sustainable practices and policies across every department of our organisation and boost our efforts towards greater transparency and collaboration”, he added.
As part of its sustainable initiatives, in November 2019, Aldar signed a strategic partnership with ADNOC to launch its new In-Country Values (ICV) programme. The programme also includes a worker welfare programme alongside a CSR and sustainability requirement for all suppliers within its prequalification tenders.
