ERC’s Ajman Centre assists 3,600 families with $3m in 2019

The UAE's humanitarian arm supported more than 16,000 individuals from 3,686 families through assistance programmes

The UAE's humanitarian arm Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has revealed that its Ajman Centre supported more than 3,600 families through humanitarian assistance programmes valued at $3m (AED11m) in 2019.

The programmes assisted more than 16,000 individuals from 3,686 families, according to state news agency, Wam.

The ERC’s projects included medical aid, seasonal-specific projects, tuition assistance for students, as well as support for People of Determination and orphaned children.

A major portion of the support provided in 2019 by the Ajman centre was in the form of medical aid, which accounted to a total of $846,000 (AED3.1m). A total of 665 individuals received medical assistance in 2019, the ERC stated.
