Saudi Arabia issues 350,000 tourist visas in last three months of 2019
The number of Saudi visas issued is expected to rise in 2020, as the kingdom aims to exceed the numbers achieved in 2019
The kingdom of Saudi Arabia issued 350,000 tourist visas in Q4 2019, the chairman of the Board of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Ahmed Al Khatib, revealed in Davos, Switzerland.
The figure is expected to rise in 2020 as the commission aims to exceed the numbers achieved in 2019, Al Khatib added.
The figures reflect recent measures taken by the government to ease visa regulations, including allowing those who have a valid UK, US, or Schengen visa to obtain a Saudi tourist visa irrespective of their citizenship.
“We are working on re-formulating hotel licenses to make them more attractive to investors and for training people,” Al Khatib said, according to the state-run Bahrain News Agency.
