Australia's GHD Group merges with UK-based Movement Strategies
The merger strengthens GHD’s proposition in markets, including property, buildings, transportation, water, and energy
Australia-headquartered GHD Group – which provides technical professional services including advisory, architecture and design, and project management services – has announced a merger with the UK-based analytics business Movement Strategies, which has provided people movement consultancy services for places such as Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and transport systems such as the Dubai Metro.
The merger strengthens GHD’s proposition in the global markets of transportation, property and buildings, water, energy and resources, by adding new and specialist asset expertise, including sports and events.
GHD currently delivers design, advisory, and consultancy services across the world, with regional projects including the Dubai Metro, Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Hosn redevelopment, and the New York University Abu Dhabi.
Movement Strategies’ services include crowd dynamics and people movement consultancy for busy places, including Makkah, the Eiffel Tower, the Olympics, World Cups, and World Expos.
Commenting on the merger, GHD’s executive managing director for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), Simon Light, said: “The complexity of challenges in the natural and built environment are driving a need for a deeper understanding of issues being faced. We believe that the integration of data-led consultancy and leading technical services delivered by exceptional people and through digital technologies, will best deliver the needs of our clients.”
Light added: “GHD and Movement Strategies provide a highly complementary fit, further strengthening our ability to deliver a positive impact in all our communities.”
The merger adds 35 Movement Strategies team members in London to the 600 GHD staff in Europe, Middle East and Africa, with a global headcount of more than 10,000.
