Lulu Hypermarket opens its 186th branch at Dubai's Festival Plaza
The store covers 56,000 sq ft; grocery and fresh food take up 85% of the store
UAE-headquartered retailer Lulu Hypermarket's 186th branch was inaugurated at Festival Plaza shopping mall by the director general of Dubai Municipality, HE Dawoud Al Hajri-Director and in the presence of the chairman and managing director of Lulu Group, Yusuff Ali M.A and group director of Al Futtaim Malls, Timothy Earnest.
A "first-of-its-kind" service, Lulu Hypermarket is offering customers the facility to sit in and eat food from the live stations in the store.
The new store joins the retail precinct that serves as a local lifestyle destination, consisting of a projected 120 stores in addition to key flagship stores IKEA and Marks & Spencer. This is complemented by a 500-seat food court, upcoming 40 dining options, play area, and more than 2,300 parking spaces.
Commenting on the milestone, group director of Al Futtaim Malls, Timothy Earnest, said: “This is a crucial step in positioning Lulu Hypermarket as the leading malls and retail experience developer in the MENA region. The valuable addition of Lulu Hypermarket with all it has to offer strengthens our mall offering and reiterates our position as retail pioneers in the region.”
Speaking about the Festival Plaza branch, chairman and managing director of Lulu Group, Yusuff Ali MA, commented: “Lulu Hypermarket at Festival Plaza is expected to provide world-class shopping experience not only to residents but also to tourists and businesspersons visiting the UAE for Expo 2020, to be held on October 20.”
