Bjarke Ingels, the Danish architect and founder of the Bjarke Ingels Group, has reportedly revealed that the firm is working on another project in Saudi Arabia, but is remaining tight-lipped about the details of the development.

According to Arabian Business, the architect said that he was working on a confidential project which he described as “a human-made ecosystem that is as close to a utopia as you dare imagine”.

Bjarke Ingels Group is responsible for the design of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF)-backed 334km2 Qiddiya gigaproject, 40km outside of Riyadh.

Construction work on the development started in January 2019, with the first phase scheduled to be completed in 2022.

As well as Saudi Arabia, Bjarke Ingels Group is also working on the designs for the 150km hyperloop transport system between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Trials are reportedly expected to begin as early as 2020, while commercial operations are likely to commence by 2023.
