Oman's residential plot allotment falls 29.6% YoY to 2,069 in Jan 2020
The governorate of Dhofar was allotted the highest number of residential plots, reaching 795 allotted plots in January
Oman’s Ministry of Housing has allotted a total of 2,069 residential land plots across the sultanate in January 2020, which marks a 29.6% year-on-year drop compared to the 2,939 land plots allotted during the same period in 2019, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The governorate of Dhofar was allotted 795 residential plots of land in January 2020, which is the highest among the governorates.
North A'Sharqiya witnessed 410 land plots allotted; North Al Batinah followed with 228; Muscat with 216; and A'Dakhliya with 193 land plots allotted during January 2020.
The governorates of Al Wusta was allotted 6 land-plots – the lowest number among the governorates.
The governorates of Dhofar, North Al Batinah, and A'Dhahira witnessed a year-on-year increase in the number of lands allotted during the period, while the rest of the governorates showed a marked decline.
Oman’s Ministry of Housing allotted a total of 28,099 land-plots in 2019.
