Samana Developers postpones China roadshow due to COVID-19
EXCLUSIVE: GM Alan James told Construction Week that the company is on track with deliveries
The developer, which is responsible for the delivery of the upcoming Samana Greens, Samana Hills, and Samana Golf Avenue projects adressed the concerns associated with the global phenomenon, underlining how it is ensuring smooth delivery despite the challenges.
Speaking exclusively to Construction Week, general manager of Samana Developers, Alan James, said: "Our Chinese clients that were due to join us in January-February have postponed their travel due to obvious reasons. Similarly, we have pushed back our next China roadshow until the situation is rectified. However, China remains a largely important market to us. If everything goes as to plan, we hope to be in China this summer."
James highlighted Samana Developers' efforts to leverage the online tools which are at their disposal to ensure investor relations, given the improbablity of travel for personal meetings.
"Since the clients cannot come and see us, a lot of the transactions are taking place via online tools such as WhatsApp, WeChat, and email. While we would obviously prefer face-to-face meetings with our clients, we are making sure that our customers are updated, and are still pushing ahead on all of our projects.
"We are on track to deliver [all projects] in time, with the addition of a fourth project to be launched in September-October," he added.
Sharing his concerns about the possible impact the outbreak — which, if not subsided by the time — could have on the Expo 2020 Dubai, James said: "We hope that the situation which has had a global impact, does not affect the start date of the event".
