SRTA ensures safety with sterilisation of 256 buses

The measure has reportedly been launched in light of the COVID-19, to ensure the safety of people using public transport


Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has said that it ensures the safety of people using the public transport with the daily sterilisation of 256 buses. 

SRTA has launched an additional programme for the cleanliness and sterilisation of public transport, as a preventive measure, in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The director of procurement department at SRTA, Youssef Suleiman Al Hammadi, said that the authority has intensified sterilisation procedures, UAE's state-run news agency Wam reported an exclusive statement to Sharjah 24, which is a government news website, affiliated of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. 

Al Hammadi confirmed that 140 public transport buses are also sterilised in the same manner daily to ensure the safety and health of passengers, in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Prevention.
