Founder and chairman of Dubai-based Finja Jewellery, Ajay Sobhraj has donated a fully-equipped building in Dubai's Jumeirah Lake Towers, towards the UAE's efforts to counter the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sobhraj stated - in a letter addressed to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) - the 7,153.5m2 property will be used to quarantine affected patients, adding that the building can accommodate up to 400 persons, state-run Dubai Media Office reported.

The building has undergone all necessary maintenance, including deep cleaning, sanitisation and air conditioning servicing, to ensure the facilities meet the required health and safety standards.

Speaking about the donation, Sobhraj said: “In such challenging times, the community must come together and support the region. The city [Dubai] has been instrumental to my success and growth for the past 25 years, and I must support it during this critical period."
