Dubai's RTA extends metro, tram suspension till 5 April
The extended disinfection campaign will run from 08:00 pm to 06:00 am every day from 29 March to 5 April
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has extended the suspension of public transit services in Dubai until April 5 as part of the National Disinfection Programme jointly undertaken by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Ministry of Interior to sterilise all public transport means and facilities.
The extended National Disinfection Programme will run from 08:00 pm to 06:00 am every day from Sunday, 29 March to Sunday, April 5. During these hours, all public transport means in Dubai will be shut down, but will operate as usual during their regular schedules between 07:00 am and 07:00 pm.
The RTA has also ceased all marine transport services, including abras, ferries, and water taxis, until 30 April, 2020, as part of the precautionary measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19).
The last journey on the Red Line of Dubai Metro will depart at 06:02 pm from Rashidiya Station to UAE Exchange Station, and at 06:02 pm from UAE Exchange Station to Rashidiya Station.
On the Green Line, the last train will depart from Creek Station to Etisalat Station at 06:13 pm, and the last train departs from Etisalat Station to Creek Station at 06:17pm.
The last intercity bus service will start at 04:00 pm to Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, and 05:00 pm to Ajman and Sharjah.
During the National Disinfection hours, taxi services will be available via Careem and Uber apps and public buses will operate on 13 routes. These routes will serve 19 public and private hospitals
Passengers have been requested to use personal protective equipment while riding public buses or moving around public areas. Community members are also recommended to observe safe distances from each other as per the prevention guidelines of the UAE government.
