Lootah BCGas, which is a subsidiary of UAE-based gas utility and infrastructure services provider S.S. Lootah Group has announced a $4.08m (AED15m) COVID-19 support programme in cooperation with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
The programme is structured to support Lootah BCGas’s residential and commercial gas utility customers in the UAE to overcome the financial challenges associated with the COVID-19 outbreak, UAE's state-run Dubai Media Office reported.
Speaking about the support programme, chief executive officer of S.S. Lootah Group, Eng Yahya Lootah, said: "Together with DCCI, we will stimulate the contribution of the private sector and support the government's measures to mitigate the impact of the novel coronavirus on various economic sectors,” adding that the programme is in line with Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to support business continuity in the UAE economy.
The programme includes a package of direct financial support measures, provided over three months, benefitting more than 50,000 residential customers as well as nearly 500 commercial establishments, most of which operate in the tourism sector.
