Emirates Islamic bank contributes $2.72m to solidarity fund

The Emirates Islamic bank, which falls under the Emirates NBD Group, has donated $2.72m (AED10m) towards the 'Social Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19' initiative. The initiative was launched by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD)

As a result of its efforts, Emirates Islamic has become the first Dubai financial institution to offer financial support to the initiative. 

Commenting on its contribution, vice chairman and managing director of Emirates NBD Group and chairman of Emirates Islamic bank, Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, said: "Our contribution reflects the principles of social unity and cooperation between individuals, the government and the business sector. These unified national efforts aim to provide medical and economic assistance to the impacted members of our community during this challenging time."
