UAE-based Dutco Group has made a contribution of $4.08m (AED15m) towards the Community Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19, which was launched recently by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD).

The aid has been recorded as the second largest financial contribution since the launch of the fund, and is in line with the region's collective efforts to contain the COVID-19 outbreak and its health, economic and social impact, state-run Dubai Media Office reported.

Speaking about Dutco Group's contribution towards the fund, chairman, Dutco Group Board, Ahmed AbdelRahim Baqer said: "Our leadership has taught us that charity is inherent to the ethos of our country, as part of which it extends humanitarian support not only locally but also globally," adding that cooperation between all segments of society will hopefully help mitigate the situation.
