ASGC Group donates $1.3m to fund the fight against COVID-19
ASGC Group says the contribution is in line with its social responsibility to mitigate the economic, social impact of COVID-19
UAE-based ASGC Group will contribute $1.3m (AED5m) to the Social Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19, which was launched by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai to support the efforts in mitigating the health, economic, and social repercussions of the current crisis.
ASGC Group confirmed to Construction Week that the contribution is in line with its social responsibility vision, which it considers as a key pillar in sustaining the welfare of societies.
A strong partnership between public and private sectors is vital to tide over the challenges in the current environment, the firm stated.
Construction Week also reported earlier in the month that Dubai Financial Market-listed real estate giant Emaar Properties has donated $27.22m (AED100m) to the Social Solidarity Fund against COVID-19.
UAE-based Dutco Group has also contributed $4.08m (AED15m) towards the fund.
The Social Solidarity Fund Against COVID-19, announced by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) aims to facilitate community contributions and donations to combat the COVID-19 outbreak under the guidance and directions of the UAE’s wise leadership.
