Majid Al Futtaim has developed an online platform for its shopping mall tenants and other businesses to safely and efficiently reach their customers through Carrefour UAE.

The e-commerce channel has been live for six months in pilot mode and has already averaged more than 1,300 daily orders.

The platform is available on the Carrefour mobile app and website, with Majid Al Futtaim stating that the partnership will enable "significant growth for businesses" looking to begin or expand their online offering and reach at a much larger customer base.

The firm added that a wide range of its shopping mall tenants have already joined the platform.

Commenting on the online platform, Majid Al Futtaim chief executive officer, Alain Bejjani, said: “In preparation for the future of retail, we are accelerating our digital transformation and ensuring that a digitally integrated model is delivering innovative customer-centric solutions.

He added: “Through this Carrefour-enabled marketplace, we are ‘going back to the future’ and replicating our traditional shopping model, where grocery retail and lifestyle brands are brought together in one location and customers can access everything they need.”
