Laing O’Rourke’s portfolio includes contracts worth $182.4m to deliver Expo 2020's Leadership and Media Pavilions

One of the leading players in the UAE buildings construction sector and a well-recognised player in the global modular construction market, Laing O’Rourke returns to the Construction Week Power 100 ranking for 2020.

Laing O’Rourke’s portfolio of projects includes two contracts worth $182.4m (AED670m) to deliver Expo 2020 Dubai’s Leadership and Media Pavilions, as well as its ‘Hammerhead’ road and landscaping elements.

When the World Expo concludes on March 31, 2022, the Leadership and Media pavilions will be transformed into hotels, which are expected to achieve four-star ratings.

Laing O’Rourke is also providing associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services through the contracts.

The UK-headquartered multinational, privately-owned construction and engineering enterprise is best known in the UAE for the design, construction, and early delivery of the 23-storey Atlantis, The Palm – the 1,539-key five-star hotel and water park – with a remarkable health and safety record of more than 43 million manhours without LTI.
