Having founded Mechanical And Civil Engineering Contractors Company (MACE) more than 22 years ago, William Haddad has led the Abu Dhabi-headquartered contractor through a number of critical civil engineering, oil and gas, mechanical and engineering, sewage and pipeline, as well as operation and maintenance projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Libya.

MACE, whose contracts involve the operation and maintenance of the sanitation systems in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, as well as in the islands of Al Reem, Al Maryah, and Al Saadiyat, was also shortlisted for the Contractor of the Year award at the Construction Week Awards 2019.

The company has strengthened its relationship with key clients in the UAE, including the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC), the Public Works Department (PWD); the Water and Electricity Department (WED); ADNOC; Sewerage Projects Committee (SPC) over the past decade.

In 2019, MACE – a “people-centric” firm – allotted $2m (AED7.3m) for training and development of its workforce, the firm told CW.
