Oman’s Muscat Securities Market-listed (MSM) construction giant Galfar Engineering & Contracting SAOG appointed Dr Hamoud Rashid Al Tobi as its CEO in May 2020.

Under his leadership, Galfar is solidifying its position as one of the top performing construction companies in the region, with a specific focus on roads and civil infrastructures.

In April 2020, Galfar secured a $24.5m (OMR9.5m) contract for the Fahud Runway Rehabilitation Project from the Sultanate’s state-held Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).

In December 2019, the construction firm received a “letter of award” for a project valued at $4.5m (OMR1.7m) involving the construction of a cliff road and access road; it also received a letter of intent (LOI) for a contract worth $5.7m (OMR2.2M) covering the construction of recharge dams.

The company is also working on the $7bn (OMR2.69bn) Duqm Refinery, where it recently scooped a $2.3m (OMR 885,503.5) civil works contract for a tank foundation project under sub-package A of the EPC Package 3 Offsite Facilities.
