Dubai Municipality sign MoU with DED to bolster geospatial infrastructure
The MoU aims to increase cooperation in the field of developing GeoDubai infrastructure
Dubai Municipality has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Economic Development Department (DED) in the field of geospatial infrastructure for the emirate.
The MoU aims to increase cooperation between the two parties in the field of developing and implementing GeoDubai infrastructure.
The agreement will also allow the firms to exchange information in order to work on preparing a “baseline map” for Dubai, for planning, designing and managing development projects.
Commenting on the MoU, Dubai Municipality director-general Dawoud Al Hajri said: “We are always keen on enriching the geospatial infrastructure in the emirate, in support of the smart trend that Dubai and the world is witnessing in various fields in general and in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in particular.”
Elaborating on the movement for geospatial infrastructure, DED director-general HE Sami Al Qamzi added: “We, at DED, seek to enhance the smart infrastructure of the emirate, within the framework of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the Dubai government to a fully smart model.”
