Volunteer humanitarian organisation in UAE, Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) will cover the accommodation costs of residents impacted by the recent gas explosion on Rashid bin Saeed Street in Abu Dhabi.

As part of its support services, ERC will accommodate 208 tenants who were affected, in accordance with the directives of Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The incident was caused by a misalignment in the gas container fittings following refuelling, as indicated by preliminary on-site investigations, Abu Dhabi Police stated.

On its part and as immediate action, the Rapid Intervention Teams and the Abu Dhabi Police evacuated all residents from the building safely.
