Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced that expatriate workers who have plans to leave the country and return to their country are allowed to do so with effect from 15 November, 2020.
The Ministry also exempted all employers and expatriate workers from all fees and fines registered against licenses for practicing professions by expatriate workers provided they leave the Sultanate terminally between 15 November and 31 December 2020, Oman News Agency reporteed.
The announcement is aligned with the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Labour Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that employers have to update their expat labour data. In addition, the statement stressed that a leaving expat worker has to make sure of validity of his/her travel documents.
