Egyptian consultancy firm Engineering Consultants Group has been appointed as lead consultant by Damac Star Properties to provide design and supervision consultancy services for the Capital Bay C Tower in Dubai’s Business Bay district.
The company said the 60m-high tower will be designed to offer 131 serviced apartments. It will sit on a 3,246.4m2 plot and will have a built-up area of 22,000m2, consisting of a ground and three podium floors, with 12 typical floors above.
The tower will be the third to be built at the site, with a pair of existing towers linked by a podium already underway.
Damac announced in May that it would be building one of its new NAIA By Damac serviced hotel apartment projects at the site, which it said would complete in the final quarter of 2014. It said that the units would be a mix of studios, one-, two- and three-bed serviced apartments, which would have a starting price of around $281,000 (AED1mn).
At the time, the firm’s senior vice-president, Niall McLoughlin, said there had been a “huge” focus on luxury serviced apartments in Dubai.
“Given the level of interest, we have decided to bring this tower at Capital Bay to market straight away, and present our first project which will be managed by NAIA by Damac is in the sought-after Business Bay Area,” he said.
