ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions has received a €100mn ($127.4mn) order from Al Sawfa Cement Company, Saudi Arabia, to build a complete cement production line.

The new 5,300 tpd cement clinker production plant will be constructed parallel to the existing line in Jabal Farasan, approximately 150km north-east of Jeddah, which was supplied by ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions and has been in operation since 2009.

Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, said: “This follow-up order shows that our strategy of combining technological competence with a strong presence in growth regions is right. It allows us to profit from the expansion of infrastructure and growth in urbanisation in many emerging markets. With our engineering expertise we also contribute to managing this growth in a sustainable way.”

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions is supplying all components for the new cement line in Jabal Farasan, from the raw material preparation system, to the clinker manufacturing process, to the cement loading facility.

Commissioning is planned for 2016.
