Al Meera Group has announced it will sponsor the Doha 2015 IPC Athletcis Wold Championships.
The para-sport event, which will run from 21-31 October at the Qatar Sports Club, will see 1,300 para-athletes from 100 countries compete in the hope of qualifying for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
The supermarket chain will provide fresh fruits to athletes and organisers during the event.
Free ticket vouchers will be provided to its customers for the IPC Athletics World Championships at its Thakhira, Mansoura, Legtaifiya, Hazm Markhiya, Nuaija branches in addition to Géant hypermarket in Hyatt Plaza mall with terms and conditions applied.
Tickets to event are also being given away for free on Al Meera’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani, Deputy CEO of Al Meera, said: “Al Meera continuously seeks to support national initiatives that benefit the people of Qatar, especially those that support and promote healthy living, such as nutrition and sports, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
