Emaar Properties has announed that Abdullah Lahej has resigned as group chief executive officer.Â
Amit Jain, the group’s chief operating officer, will handle Lahej’s responsibilities, the company said in a statement posted on Dubai Financial Market’s website.

On Sunday, Emaar Properties unveiled what could be set to be the world’s largest tower.
The $1bn Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour will be a “notch taller than Burj Khalifa”, though the official height has not been revealed.
The new building will face competition from the 1,000 metre high Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, currently under construction, for the ‘tallest in the world’ title, which will exceed the height of the Burj Khalifa (828m).
