Qatar’s Public Works Authority, Ashghal, has announced another year-long road closure.
The latest closure relates to a section of Mesaieed Road in the direction of Al Wakrah.
The road will be closed for a period of one year, during which time Ashghal will build a new inteterchange.
Motorists will be diverted onto a newly built two-lane, 2.6km-long stretch of road until the Mesaieed Road works are complete.
Meanwhile, traffic heading in the opposite direction will be diverted onto a new road detour going from Doha toward Sealine.
The roadworks are to be conducted as part of the Asghal Expressway programme’s Wakrah Bypass project.
The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h for the duration of the current phase of development.
