Ongoing road upgrades and improvements have necessitated another diversion, Ashghal informs.

Ashghal, Qatar’s Public Works Authority will implement a temporary detour on Haroun Road in North Al Wukair.

The section connects Al Wukair Road to the Industrial Area Road and F-Ring Road, with the diversion starting on Tuesday, 10 January 2017, for a duration of three months.

During its closure, traffic on the 1.9km long, Haroun Road – which has two lanes in each direction –will be diverted to adjacent roads, Al Tabaah and Zubarat Al Eraiq streets.

In addition, four roundabouts will help to ease the traffic flow in the area.

Haroun Road between Zubarat Al Eraiq and Sheikh Mubarak Bin AbdulRahman Al-Thani will be reopened on 16 February 2017 and traffic will be diverted to the newly completed road. The construction will be conducted in phases.

This diversion is part of the Roads and Infrastructure for Government Residential Division project in North Al Wukair, with the scope of work including the removal of the existing road in order to construct a new one.

Included in the project is the construction of new signal-controlled intersections, improved street lighting, in addition to providing sidewalks and landscaping.

Diversion signs will be installed to advise motorists of the diversion and the authority requests all road users to keep to the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
