Dewan Architects + Engineers, a leading multidisciplinary architectural design firm, announced the opening of its first office in Vietnam to support its rapid growth in the country and expand its footprint in Southeast Asia.
Located in the Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City, the new office reflects Dewan Architects + Engineers’ strong commitment to Vietnam, where it has completed several iconic residential towers and is working with major developers on projects in cities such as the capital Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Vung Tau.
The Ho Chi Minh City office will be staffed by a growing team of architects and engineers with experience in the local market. The office strengthens Dewan Architects + Engineers’ presence in Southeast Asia having successfully operated an office in Manila since 2008, and will be a hub to expand further in the region moving forward.
“Opening our first Vietnam office is the next natural step in growing our presence locally since starting work four years ago,” said Ammar Al Assam, CEO of Dewan Architects + Engineers.
He added: “Being in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City will enable us to service our clients with talented architects and engineers with an intimate knowledge of the local market in addition to the multidisciplinary architectural design services from our global network of design studios.”
Dewan’s high-rise towers
For its first Vietnam project, Dewan Architects + Engineers designed two luxury high-rise residential towers in Hanoi, which are part of a wider masterplan for one of the country’s first sustainable urban cities, with construction scheduled to be completed this year.
Ongoing projects include the design of a sustainable high-rise residential development with prime waterfront and golf course views in Hai Duong, as well as master planning of three cities in the Ho Chi Minh City area, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.
Al Assam said: “Vietnam has proved to be a very promising market for us. We have several projects in the pipeline, and we are seeing more and more projects coming online as key sectors like tourism begin to rebound.
“Our new office is a clear sign that we believe in the market and are here to stay. It is in an iconic tower that can be seen all over Ho Chi Minh City and we have plenty of space to expand. We have already hired several talented people and will be looking to bring more on board in the weeks and months ahead.
“Beyond Vietnam, the office solidifies our longstanding presence in Southeast Asia and gives us scope to expand our regional footprint in the future as we have big long-term plans for this part of the world.”
