Emaar Development CEO Bader Hareb announces resignation

Bader Hareb has resigned from his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Emaar Development.

Hareb was appointed to the role in 2018, less than a year after Chris O’Donnell took the helm of the company.

The resignation was announced through a missive posted on Dubai Financial Market (DFM), which cited that the move was due to “personal reasons”, and effective from 30 December 2021.

Despite having reportedly halted new projects in December 2020, Emaar Properties recorded robust performance in H1 of 2021, led by record property sales of $4.6bn (AED16.8bn), representing a 229% increase compared to the same period last year.

The performance was positively impacted by Emaar’s concerted focus on sales of under-construction projects and the launch of properties both in the UAE and international markets.
