The shortlist for Consultancy of the Year at Construction Week Oman Awards 2019 has attracted some of the most recognisable names in the sultanate’s consulting space.

Shortlisted entry Hoehler + alSalmy described 2018 as a “fast paced year” for the firm, with at least five major construction projects overseen by the firm in Oman, three of which were for the sultanate’s German University of Technology.

The firm also successfully completed the Crowne Plaza hotel in Muscat in 100 construction days, one of four new major projects won by the firm last year – including Muscat University Permanent campus, The Fin Fish Hatchery, and the new $259.7m (OMR100m) A’Namaa Poultry Factory development.

Omani firm Ibrahim Jaidah Architects and Engineers (IJAE) also features on this year’s shortlist, boasting a team of professionals with architectural, engineering, interior and landscape design, and project and construction management expertise.

As part of its nomination, IJAE noted that its team in Oman in 2018 was 12 times bigger than when it was established in 2013.

Also on the shortlist for Consultancy of the Year honours this year is KEO International Consultants, which has more than 2,000 multidisciplinary professionals working on various projects across the region. In Oman, the group has delivered a number of high-profile projects, such as the 220km2 Duqm Industrial City.

KEO is also the supervision consultant for Saraya Bandar Jissah, home to two five-star resort hotels, and 356 residential units, and recreational and leisure facilities.
