CW Oman Awards 2019: Voltas wins sustainability prize for Muscat mall
Indian contractor's work on Al Araimi Boulevard Mall takes it to major win at eighth iteration of CW Oman Awards
The sewage treatment plant that Voltas Oman, backed by India's Tata Group, built in Muscat will treat liquid waste that can be reused as water for irrigation after it has been cleaned. It will also create organic fertilisers – and judges were highly complementary of the recycling project.
Sohar Steel was another finalist in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category. The company made the cut after completing an environmental declaration that means its products are listed on Green Book Live.
Voltas Oman picked up its award at the Kempinski Hotel Muscat on Monday, 25 March, 2019, which was attended by the country's most senior construction professionals.
