CW Oman Awards 2019: Mariam Mann Al Taie named Rising Star
Khatib & Alami engineer wins hotly contested prize as L&T Oman's R Bharath Kumar Reddy is highly commended
Khatib & Alami’s Mariam Mann Al Taie has been crowned Rising Star of the Year at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2019 in one of the most competitive categories of the evening.
The Rising Star of the Year award is given to the individual, under the age of 30, who can demonstrate the greatest level of professional development during the eligibility period.
Their employer may operate in any part of Oman’s construction chain, from suppliers through to contractors, sub-contractors, and consultants.
Judges commended this year’s winner from Khatib & Alami for her ability to build relationships and networks in the tight-knit Omani construction sector, including with clients such as Muscat Municipality.
One of the judges commended Al Taie for having “a diverse portfolio under her belt”, noting too the winner’s “clear passion for the built environment”.
R Bharath Kumar Reddy of Larsen & Toubro (Oman) was highly commended in this year’s more junior category, impressing the jury with his ability to successfully value engineer construction programmes.
Al Taie's award was Khatib & Alami's second win of the night.
A total of six engineering professionals were in the running for this year’s Rising Star of the Year award, with representation also found from KEO International Consultants, Lalbuksh Voltas Engineering Services, Kettle Collective, and Hoehler + alSalmy.
Construction Week Oman Awards 2019's winners were named at a gala ceremony on 25 March, 2019, at the Kempinski Hotel Muscat.
