Editor's Note: CW Awards in line for another record-breaking year
As we enter the business end of the year, the biggest night in construction is almost upon us - the CW Awards 2019
It is mesmerising that we have reached the end of the year already, and with December in mind, that means only one thing for the sector: The Construction Week Awards 2019.
Held on the 4 December at the JW Marriott Marquis in Dubai, the awards will be running for its 15th edition in what has been an exhilarating year for the construction sector.
The event continues to grow and is on-track for another record breaking year in terms of table sales and entries.
The awards will recognise the achievements of contractors, clients, sub-contractors, consultancies, and sub-consultancies in the Middle East.
Popular categories such as Consultancy of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Hospitality Project of the Year, CSR Initiative of the Year, and Construction Executive of the Year will all return at this year’s event.
For those not aware, we also have a brand new category for this year - The Sub-Consultancy of the Year - which indicates the continuous growth of the event.
Every single year, the event has become a great social occasion and an essential networking opportunity. Winners will receive a commemorative trophy and significant recognition from across the industry.
This week, we held our judging process with four high-profile industry experts analysing all of the shortlisted nominees – and what an impressive line-up of developments we have.
A remark that the judges repeated throughout the process was that the nominations “get better every year”, and this is further evidence that the industry is heading in the right direction.
Despite the challenges that the sector has faced, these issues have been balanced out by the pipeline of excellent projects across the region.
Following hours of deliberating with the judges, we finally came to an agreement on the 14 category winners and highly commended entrants, and I can’t wait to finally reveal them at the Construction Week Awards in just under two weeks.
Having taken over as editor of Construction Week recently, I am excited to meet the people who make this industry great, as well as familiar faces who I have crossed paths with previously during my reporter days.
The Construction Week team will be on-hand to answer any questions and queries that you may have throughout the evening and we look forward to celebrate with you.
