The Omani division of India’s Bombay Stock Exchange-listed construction heavyweight, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has won the Infrastructure Project of the Year at our first ever virtual Construction Week Oman Awards.

L&T (Oman) bagged the award for its work on the dualization of the 263km Al Sharqiyah Expressway, which aims to cut down travel times around the surrounding cities and towns of Muscat.

Judges said L&T had made significant strides in Oman over the past 12 months and the winning project shone for its contribution to the economic development of the sultanate by providing access to important facilities, industrial estates and tourism activities.

The other shortlisted nominees for the Infrastructure Project of the Year accolade at the Construction Week Oman Awards 2020 also came from other L&T (Oman) projects such as its 400 KV underground cable project and work on the Ghala Heights grid station.

The Construction Week Oman Awards 2020 were supported by Silver Sponsors – Tenable Fire Engineering Consultancy and KEO International Consultants; The Chartered Institute of Building as our Supporting Sponsor; ProTenders being the Intelligence Partner; and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as the Training Partner.

Following its category win, L&T (Oman) will now be shortlisted for the Infrastructure Project of the Year for the Construction Week Awards, which is taking place in Dubai from the 9 December 2020.
