Speakers, topics revealed for Dispute Resolution Dubai

QSI Consultancy Group’s Brian Allan and Reed Smith’s Sachin Kerur will discuss methods for resolving conflicts

Construction Week can confirm that Reed Smith’s head of Middle East, Sachin Kerur, and QSI Consultancy Group’s managing director, Brian Allan, will be our panellists for the Dispute Resolution Question Time Dubai event.

Set to take place on 30 June from 2pm, this year’s event will be held as a free webinar to discuss topics such as dispute resolution methods, legal challenges brought upon by COVID-19, and variations and changes in construction contracts.

Other discussions will comprise whether traditional methods of dispute resolution may be swept aside due to the evolution of technology, and how Force Majeure can act as a defence against COVID-19 claims.

Sachin Kerur, head of Reed Smith Middle East

With a career spanning over 23 years, Kerur is a partner in Reed Smith’s energy and natural resources practice.

Also the office managing partner of the firm’s Middle East unit, Kerur specialises in advising government and the private sector on privatised and publicly procured infrastructure and development works.

Kerur took up his current role in July 2018, having previously served as the head of the Middle East region operations for law firm Pinsent Masons.

Brian Allan, managing director of QSI Consultancy Group

Allan, who has over 30 years of construction industry experience covering Europe, the Far East and the Middle East, is the managing director of the dispute resolution and expert services firm QSI Consultancy Group and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

In addition to being a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and an Accredited Mediator with Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.

The webinar will be hosted by Construction Week’s editor Ashley Williams.
