 CEO Middle East, Porr Group
HE Ali Al Mansoori
Sachin Kerur

During the past year, Porr Qatar has succeeded in securing two major contracts in its home market: track works at Doha Metro, and the main works and master plan for Al Wakrah Stadium and Precinct. Scheduled to complete before the end of 2018, the former is being conducted as part of a $100m (QAR634m) contract on behalf of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI).

The latter, which is due to complete in June 2018, is being conducted for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) as part of a $660m (QAR2.4bn) deal.

At present, Stiegler is responsible for a 1,291-strong workforce that operates from Porr’s Qatar hub. Qualified engineers account for approximately 50% of this figure. During the coming 12 months, Porr will continue to focus its efforts on infrastructure projects.

“Our biggest opportunity will be the focus on tunnel and railway activities,” Stiegler told Construction Week.

“Although the GCC Railway Network is expected to be delayed, tunnel projects are planned in the GCC countries where Porr can contribute in many ways,” the CEO added.
