Launched in Lebanon in 1964, Khatib & Alami (K&A) now operates throughout the GCC, in neighbouring regional countries such as Iraq and Libya, and Sub-Saharan African nations. The firm also has a footprint in international markets like the US. Dr Najib Khatib, chief executive officer (CEO) and partner at the engineering consultancy, told Construction Week: “In the last eight years, we have grown substantially, reaching our peak in the period 2008 to 2014. In terms of revenue and profit, in 2015 – despite the regional socio-economic challenges – K&A managed to increase its revenue and retain unchanged profit levels.” Dr Khataib was appointed to his current role in 2016, and has managed to secure an impressive line-up of contracts, including the Lusail City waterfront project in Qatar, and the Abu Dhabi Marina in the UAE.
