Ahmed M Osman

Managing Principal, DeSimone
Mohandass Saini
Steve Lever

In the 10 years that Ahmed M Osman, managing principal of DeSimone Consulting Engineers, has spent in the Middle East, the US-headquartered firm has added some of the UAE’s most prestigious developments to its portfolio, such as the Sheikh Khalifa Mosque in Al Ain City and Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Pearl Hotel. DeSimone registered $40.6m (AED149.1m) in revenues through to 31 December, 2015, and is expected to record 10% higher earnings – worth $44m (AED161.6m) – in 2016. Osman said that operational expansion across the UAE is one of the greatest opportunities for his firm this year, but the ongoing oil price slump – and resultant budgetary cuts – could impact these plans.
