Benoy Kurien, the general manager of UAE-based Al Hamra Real Estate Development (AHRED), said he is optimistic about how the country’s property market could perform during the second half of 2016. AHRED boasts real estate projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, and the developer’s footprint is most notable in the former’s Ras Al Khaimah emirate. Speaking to Construction Week, Kurien admitted the global economic slowdown has reduced the scope for investor interest in property development, but was quick to point out that lowered liquidity has also improved UAE investors’ appetite for affordable residential real estate projects.
