Abdulrahman Abdulkader Mohammed Fakih

Chairman, Makkah Construction & Development Company
Abdullah Saad Al-Rashid
Mustafa Sani Sener

The MCDC chairman’s responsibilities extend beyond any other developer. His company not only invests in, develops, manages and rents property around the Holy Mosque, but its engineering, construction, maintenance, demolition and surveying operations are also employed on the largest projects in Makkah.

The company was set up in 1989 - 10% of its public shareholding is with the Saudi Binladin Group - but arguably there is no other developer like Fakih’s comnpany the world.

There is only one Makkah and millions of pilgrims each year visit the city. The Saudi government’s determination to accommodate them means the city is undergoing an a transformation, all under the control of the MCDC.

It is behind the 1,400-room Makkah Hilton Hotel and Makkah Hilton Towers projects, and it has built and developed a commercial centre/shopping mall plus a 20,000-person prayer hall. It is the largest shareholder in the Jabal Omar Development Company responsible for developing and constructing the Jabal Omar area located near the courtyard on the western side of the Grand Mosque.
