Building, civil engineering and MEP, MIDMAC does it all. With 6,000-plus employees it is the Qatari company at the heart of the country’s massive growth over the next decade.
Mohamed Ali M K Kubaisi’s company has an average annual turnover in excess of $500 million. But he is more than just a chairman of one of the country’s most successful companies - and largest contractors - he is involved in every aspect of the country’s redevelopment and his influence and power are evident across the country.
His company is playing a central role in this transformation with MIDMAC active in all areas of the development and diversification of Doha. It also offers services in a few specialist areas such as marine work and piling, in addition to the traditional civil engineering MEP works.
The company can trace its roots back to then mid-1960s, though MIDMAC was officially formed in 1975.
In 2002, Qatar Investment and Project Development Company WLL (QIPCO) acquired a majority stake in MIDMAC and by 2005, MIDMAC became a wholly owned subsidiary of QIPCO.
MIDMAC is involved with the work and activities of its sister companies in real estate, oil and gas, trading and services, financial services, education, health and specialised joint ventures.
Kubaisi’s company is also a Class A certified general contractor, which makes much of its 40 years experience in the country.
