HE Abdulla Ahmed Mohammed Al Habbai
HE Abdulla Ahmed Mohammed Al Habbai is the Group chairman of Meraas Holding in Dubai as well as the CEO of the Engineer’s Office.
Meraas is building the $1.6bn Blue Waters Island, 500m off the coast of Dubai Marina (pictured above). An estimated $270m will be spent on the world’s biggest ferris wheel, dubbed the Dubai Eye.
He has more than 20 years experience in property, including 16 years at Dubai Municipality focusing on urban planning.
He is a director of Noor Islamic Bank PJSC and serves as the chairman of the Industrial & Investment Lands Committee. In December, he was appointed to the Dubai Real Estate Corporation, which manages a multi-million portfolio of land, including properties registered to the Dubai Government.
Meraas will develop the $2.7bn entertainment complex in Jebel Ali with five theme parks. It won Construction Week Commercial Project of the Year 2012 for The Avenue, which judges described as “a great example of a regeneration project”.
