Mohammed Al Rais
The latest announcement of a contract award in Iraq gives a clear insight into this managing director’s drive.
Two years ago he said the company would look for growth in Iraq and Saudi Arabia – today his company’s success in those regions proves he is a man of his word.
In December Al Rais collected the Construction Week Lifetime Achievement Award 2012 in recognition of his 31 years of experience in the design, construction and management of complex capital projects throughout the MENA region, as well as the UK and Canada.
Under his leadership, Hill International has managed a range of real estate, hospitality and infrastructure projects throughout the Middle East. Al Rais is now responsible for more than 400 people and a project portfolio valued at over $10 billion making his region one of the most valuable parts of Hill International, which has 3,700 employees in 100 offices.
Among recent successful contract wins is the newly-awarded contract from the State Housing Commission (SHC) of the Iraq Ministry of Construction and Housing to provide project management oversight (PMO) consulting services in connection with various housing developments throughout Iraq. The two-year contract has an estimated value to Hill of approximately $5.7 million.
Hill International provides programme management, project management, construction management and construction claims and consulting services.
