Abdullatif Al Fozan
Abdullatif Al Fozan chairs the Riyadh-based Al Fozan Group of Companies, which includes divisions in building materials, hardware, structural steel, glass and electrical transformers.
The fast-growing group includes a chain of hardware stores branded as ‘Nice’ and electrical retailer ‘eXtra’, while in property development it has stakes in around five different ventures – including the Emaar Middle East joint venture developing Fairmont-branded serviced apartments in Makkah as well as the Jeddah Gate and Al Khobar Lakes master developments.
Its contracting arm, meanwhile, has two businesses. The first, Building Construction Co, is a general construction company set up in 1996 that has delivered many of the homes at Al Khobar Lakes as well as the gatehouse and surrounding buildings for the King Fahd Port at Jubail Industrial City.
The second, Al-Latifa Trading & Contracting, was founded in 1987 and is described as a tier-one contractor. It has worked on everything from large mixed-use schemes to shopping malls, hospitals, hotels and industrial complexes.
In September, the company was appointed as a joint venture partner with Habtoor Leighton Group on a $316m healthcare project to build four new medical centres at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. The project includes a new 11-storey National Neurosciences Institute and an 11-storey cancer centre.
