Managing director of Al-Futtaim Auto and Machinery Company (FAMCO), Paul Floyd is overseeing the company’s stated ambitions to become the largest seller of construction equipment in the Middle East.
Saudi Arabia is a major part of this strategy, where FAMCO sells major brand Volvo Construction Equipment, as well as Himoinsa generators. In the UAE FAMCO has opened a major service and operations centre in Dubai Investment Park, further cementing its presence in the emirates. FAMCO also has dealer branches in Oman and Qatar.
Speaking earlier this year during a visit to Saudi Arabia, Floyd said the company’s performance in the last 12 months has gone from strength to strength across the country, and is in line with the region’s sustained economic growth.
“Saudi Arabia’s aspirational development plans across many key sectors of economic activity are driving our business in the Kingdom and fuelling our expansion plans across and beyond our current five locations,” he said.
Recently Volvo chiefs visited Saudi Arabia with Floyd, to see progress in what is one of the most important machinery markets globally, with the high levels of investment in infrastructure resulting in high demand for earth moving machinery.
