Founded as part of the Al Futtaim Group in 1974 and emerging from a role in the earliest rush for air conditioning in the UAE, Al Futtaim Engineering now encompasses six divisions delivering everything from MEP to elevators.

Dawood Bin Ozair said: “One of our strengths is that we carry projects from design right through to construction and operations, so on many of our projects, whatever we have installed is under our maintenance, and that’s a good sign of customer satisfaction.

“As a whole, Al Futtaim Engineering and Technologies, which also includes structured cabling and voice security systems, has been consistently growing for the last eight years at a compound annual growth rate of around 20% year on year. no one would argue that this is a remarkable rate of growth.

Bin Ozair also places enormous importance to issues of health, safety and security of its staff. It makes much of its successful attainment of ISO 9000 standard.

A fifth of the work carried out by Al Futtaim Engineering & Technologies percolates down from Al Futtaim Group. This includes the $1.6bn Doha Festival City in Qatar and the similar Cairo Festival City in Egypt.

Bin Ozair says the company remains focused on the future: “We are growing well in the UAE, and we are taking a good portion of our segments in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which is the largest construction site in the world today.”
