Angelo Manasero

Sherif Anis is a prominent figure in the Middle East architectural industry, having dedicated 22 years to his chosen profession.

He is currently a Design Manager at Gulf Related and President of AIA Middle East, which makes him a key figure in the region for architecture.

Anis has an active role in the architectural education system in the Middle East.
This year he was involved with signing an agreement between the Architecture and Design department of the American University in Dubai and the AIA to bring a test centre ot Abu Dhabi.

“I think that architecture is headed in the right direction. As devastating as the economic downturn has been to our profession, it has also brought us closer to addressing what is important about our profession,” says Anis.

“This is a pretty big piece of news for us. We have been pushing very hard for this to happen for a long time.

“It benefits mostly those graduates of US architecture schools, who live and work in the region but have not sat for their licensing exams.”
