CEO, Roots Group Arabia

Khalid Juma Al Majid

Ousama Fansa is the CEO of Roots Group Arabia, a major distributor of building materials, industrial supplies, and construction equipment. Spread across a number of countries, Arabian Roots is headquarted in Jeddah, and is part of the Binladin group of companies.

The company has a diverse range of products, but one of its most high profile is the Wolffkran tower cranes, which are operating on major projects in Saudi Arabia including King Abdulla International Airport (KAIA) and in the holy city of Makkah.

In late 2011 it took on Case Construction, and earlier this year it took on the aerial work platform manufacturer Haulotte Group.

As the building boom in Saudi Arabia continues, Roots Group is set to be a major supplier over the next five years as the pipeline of mega projects comes online. And with contractors Saudi Binladin Group responsible for delivering over 66% of the mega-projects in the Kingdom, the company is set to benefit from the close association. This year, Roots Group expects to pass the $1 billion revenue mark by November, after posting $800m last year.
